Welcome my the first “Helpful Hints” post; this category of items is actually the main motivation for me getting my website up and running! Over the course of my life I’ve run across some challenging items – stuff other people had problems with but nobody seemed to have a solution for. I’m sure you can relate.
Every now and then I’d dig up the answer to one of these aforementioned problems…posted by some individual in a forgotten corner of the web. There was never any way to thank these people for their help directly, but it motivated me to “pass it along” any time I found a solution to a problem that wasn’t documented online.
While up to this point I have been forced to post my solutions elsewhere – either in some forum/reddit post as of in the days of old, or as a Youtube video – with my site now functioning again I can consolidate all of these “Helpful Hints” (as I call them) in one place, and in one category!
So without further ado, here is my first official Helpful Hint.
If you google how to remove the “Add to Cart” button from your WooCommerce store, you will get garbage results. Almost all of the search findings will try to get you to buy their plugin for functionality that already exists! Don’t fall for it. Instead, do the following:
1) Go to your site theme’s customizer menu.
2) Select WooCommerce -> Product Catalog
3) Navigate down to “Shop Card Structure” in the submenus, and toggle the “eye” icon beside “Add to Cart”.
That’s it! Why such simple information wasn’t already available is astonishing to me.
